Founder practice

Embodied leadership for founders under pressure.

Your body can reveal the conditions around a decision. It should not be asked to make the decision alone.

Founders carry decisions that cannot be delegated. Under that pressure, leadership becomes physical: breathing shortens, attention collapses around the loudest risk. The body is already participating.

Embodied leadership is the disciplined use of that information. It is not treating every sensation as truth. Separate three layers: sensation, story, and evidence.

A four-part decision practice

Arrive

Place both feet on the ground, lengthen the exhale and recover enough attention to observe.

Locate

Name the strongest sensation without interpretation. Then name the impulse attached to it: move faster, withdraw, persuade, control or please.

Test

Ask: What do I know? What am I assuming? Whose perspective is missing? What would change my mind? The body contributes information; it does not replace due diligence.

Choose

Define the next action and the condition for reviewing it. An irreversible decision may need more evidence, a second conversation or a night’s sleep.

Inner work becomes leadership when it changes how the system operates: who decides, how dissent is heard, what gets measured and what happens next.
